About Me

Counselling and supervision in Pontardawe and online — a safe, compassionate space where you can explore, reflect, and grow.

About Me

With over 18 years’ experience as a therapist and more than 25 years in education, I’ve dedicated my professional life to supporting others — whether through counselling, supervision, or teaching. My aim has always been the same: to create a safe, respectful space where people feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
I’m a Humanistic Psychotherapist, integrating Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Emotion-Focused Therapy approaches. My work is grounded in connection, compassion, and a belief in each person’s capacity for change.
Alongside my therapy practice, I have worked for over a decade as a clinical supervisor, supporting qualified counsellors, trainees, and other helping professionals as they grow in skill, confidence, and clarity. Supervision is a space I hold with care — recognising how essential it is to feel supported in the work we do for others.

My Background in Education

Before becoming a full-time therapist, I spent over two decades working in education in various roles. For several years, I served as a Senior Lecturer in Counselling at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, where I taught counselling at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
This academic experience has given me a strong foundation in the theory and ethics of therapeutic work, as well as a deep appreciation for the learning process. It continues to inform my supervision practice today, particularly when supporting students and newly qualified therapists.

Media & Community Engagement

I’ve also been involved in public outreach, including acting as an expert panel member on local radio. I’ve contributed guidance and answered listener questions on issues such as anxiety, life transitions, supporting young people, and managing stress.
These opportunities have strengthened my commitment to making psychological insight accessible and practical — whether in one-to-one sessions or broader community settings.

My Values

At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy and supervision should be collaborative, respectful, and grounded in real human connection. Whether you’re navigating personal difficulties or supporting others professionally, I strive to offer a space where you feel safe to reflect, grow, and move forward — at your own pace.
