The Process

Counselling and supervision in Pontardawe and online — a safe, compassionate space where you can explore, reflect, and grow.

What to Expect When You Reach Out

Starting counselling or supervision can feel like a big step — especially if you’re not sure what to expect. My aim is to make the process as clear, comfortable, and supportive as possible from the very beginning.
Here’s what the journey typically looks like:
01
Initial Contact
You’re welcome to get in touch by email or phone. Whether you already know what support you’re looking for or just want to explore your options, this is the first step in opening a conversation.

02
Free 15-Minute Consultation
I offer a no-obligation 15-minute phone consultation. This is a chance for us to briefly discuss your needs, answer any questions you might have, and get a sense of whether we’d be a good fit to work together.

There’s no pressure — just a calm, informal chat.
03
Booking Your First Session
If we decide to go ahead, we’ll agree on a session time that suits you. I offer both face-to-face sessions in Pontardawe and online sessions via a secure platform, so you can choose what feels right.

We’ll also confirm whether you’re looking for short-term or open-ended work — though this can be reviewed at any time.
04
Ongoing Work
Sessions typically last around 50 minutes. They’re your space to explore whatever feels important — at your own pace.

In counselling, this may mean working through a specific issue, managing change, or exploring deeper patterns. In supervision, it may involve reflecting on client work, ethical dilemmas, or your professional growth.
05
Reviewing and Ending
Therapeutic and supervisory work evolves over time. We’ll regularly check in on how things are going and discuss your goals. When the time comes to end our work together, we’ll make sure that process is planned and supported.

Is This Right for Me?

If you’re unsure whether therapy or supervision is the right next step, I encourage you to reach out. You don’t need to have everything figured out — just a willingness to explore what you need.
